Program will help kids Recognize Stroke Signs

In early 2017, Dr. Olajide Williams’ innovative Hip Hop Stroke program was offered to hospitals in New York State.  As reported in The Daily News (upstate area), Orleans Community Health Hospital in Medina, NY is the first to implement the program, in partnership with the Medina Central School District.  As Orleans Nurse Manager and Stroke Coordinator Mackenzie Smith explains, “It’s all about getting people to the hospital in time…A lot of times a child is around his grandparents or older relatives and if we can teach children the signs of a stroke, we may save a life.” [read more]
