Externship In Clinical Neuropsychology

The Division of Epilepsy and Sleep at Columbia University Irving Medical Center offers a one-year externship in clinical neuropsychology. Externs will learn to administer, score, and interpret neuropsychological test batteries in patients undergoing evaluation for epilepsy, movement disorders, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions. The patient population includes young children through older adulthood. Externs will have the opportunity to attend surgical case conferences, teaching rounds, and lectures in the Department of Neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Externs will also have the opportunity to observe Wada Procedures and both intra-operative and extra-operative electro-cortical stimulation language mapping.

Supervision will be conducted by Drs. Marla Hamberger, Jeffrey Cole and Lindsay Plunkett.  

Current enrollment as a doctoral student in Psychology is required. Graduate coursework in neuropsychology and prior testing experience is strongly preferred.
